Esteemed FBLA members, officers, and advisors,
The RI FBLA State Officer team has an open position for State Membership Chair! We are accepting applications from all schools, especially those which have had successful increases in membership in recent years. We hope to receive applications by at least 2 weeks prior to our State Fall Leadership Conference on November 16th, to ensure there is ample time to appoint and install an officer. The goal of Membership Chair is to increase membership in all chapters across the state. Responsibilities include overseeing the state membership committee made up of student representatives from each chapter (further information about aforementioned committee to be released in the near future), sharing success stories from your own chapter that led to an increase in membership, and coming up with new, innovative strategies to recruit students to the FBLA organization. To apply for this position, please download and complete the officer application form located on our Officer Resources Page. Then, please email it to rgbrooks1@cox.net (Dr. Brooks, state advisor). Good luck! Sincerely, the RI FBLA State Officer Team To FBLA members, advisors, and officers,
On behalf of the RI state officer team, we welcome all new and returning members to FBLA. As you may know, FBLA is an organization dedicated to preparing business minded students for colleges and careers, and give them the opportunity to showcase their leadership skills in competitions at a state and national level. We are excited to announce many upcoming events for the fall term, and highly encourage chapters to participate. The date of our State Fall Leadership Conference is tentative, but please stay tuned for the announcement! At our SFLC, students will listen to innovative keynote speakers, network with FBLA members throughout the state, participate in workshops, and enjoy a delicious selection of food, sponsored and hosted by Johnson and Wales University. Additionally, chapters are encouraged to attend the nationally organized Regional Leadership Conference in Chicago, IL on November 2nd and 3rd. There will be workshops, guest speakers, and exciting networking opportunities. Finally, please stay tuned for the release of our fall newsletter, which will detail fundraising operations, plans, and tips from our state. You will be able to find it on the "Newsletters" page of our site. We wish all Rhode Island FBLA chapters a successful year, and hope to bring you many more business and leadership opportunities throughout this term! |
